2nd of December 2024: Our First CanSat Presentation

During our presentation, our school's teams talked about the fundamentals of the Dutch CanSat Competition. We also explained our missions and answered questions asked by our audience. People who couldn't attend the presentation, joined our live on Instagram. After the presentation, we ate our dinner sponsored by different stores and worked on our CanSat!

20th of January 2025: CanSat Work Day

We have been working on our Cansat since we received the Starting Package (on 19th of November). On this day, our team did the tests needed for the test day on the 3rd of February!
Software Tests: Sofia tested the sensors for primary and secondary mission to see if they connect to the program 💻
Soldering: Lara and Emilio soldered The Shield (green board). Soldering is a process of joining two metal surfaces together using a filler metal called solder 🖇️
Parachute Tests: Deyora has made a prototype parachute! It has a cross-like structure with strong ropes to carry the CanSat and withstand pressure 🪂
Clothing Design: We have chosen a navy-blue hoodie as our uniform! It has our logo and the member's name in the front and our logo in a can at the back. For our sponsors, we will make pins/patches to put on the sweater. The reason why we chose this sweater is because it matches our logo and the cold weather ❄️

3rd of February 2025: The Test Day

Test Day Recap: We tested our CanSat's communicative ability, received consultation from DARE, TU Delft's astronomical team, and a presentation about NSO and Da Vinci's CubeSat!
25th of February 2025: Final Design (+ preperations)
We've done numerous tests to ensure that our CanSat is ready for launch 🚀 And as you can see, we're extremely close to getting it done. We have proven that our tests from hardware to software are able to function on launch day. Our team is currently working on the Final Design Report. Stay tuned as we finish our CanSat.
6th of April: The Results & Our Unofficial Launch
Unfortunately, we were not selected in the finals of the CanSat Competition. Nevertheless, we would like to thank everyone for supporting us since the beginning of our journey! Especially WHO E.L.S? for launching our sat 🤗, Lommers Installatiebedrijf for funding our sensors and places such as Amazing Oriental, De Notenkoning and Bakkerij Maxima for sponsoring us 🤠 Also special thanks to our teachers who helped us join and Esero, Nemo and ESA for organising the competition!
To sum it all up, our CanSat journey was full of ups and downs, but we definitely consider it a success!
